  • Achieving a Natural, Dimensional Look
Freckles are multi-tonal and have depth. I prefer to see you for two sessions to build depth and dimension for a natural result. The first session lays the foundation, and the second session adds extra layers to create the depth and variation that make freckles look authentic.

    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for a week before the procedure.

    • Hydrate and moisturize your skin in the days leading up to your appointment.

    • Gently exfoliate your face a few days prior to help pigment adhesion.

    • Arrive with a clean face (no makeup, oils, or lotions).

    • Avoid sun exposure for the first few weeks.

    • Keep the area clean and moisturized with the recommended ointment.

    • Do not pick or scratch at the treated area.

    • Limit heavy sweating for the first few days to ensure proper healing.

    • Pregnancy or Breastfeeding: It's recommended to avoid cosmetic tattooing during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to hormonal fluctuations and potential skin sensitivity.

    • Active Skin Conditions: Conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, or dermatitis on the face can affect healing and the final result.

    • Accutane Use: If you've been on Accutane (isotretinoin) in the last 6 months, it can affect your skin’s ability to heal and may lead to scarring.

    • Keloid Scarring: Individuals prone to keloid scarring or those with a history of keloids may not be ideal candidates.

    • Sunburn or Tan: If your skin is sunburned or recently tanned, it’s best to wait until your skin has healed before undergoing the procedure.

    • Allergies to Pigments or Anesthetics: If you have known allergies to tattoo pigments, anesthetic creams, or other ingredients used during the procedure, it’s important to inform your artist.

    • Skin Infections: If you have any active infection or cold sores on your face, it's advised to wait until fully healed before scheduling your appointment.

    • Uncontrolled Diabetes: If you have uncontrolled diabetes, healing may be impaired, so consult your doctor before booking the service.

    • Recent Chemical Peels or Laser Treatments: If you've recently had chemical peels or laser treatments, it's best to wait for the skin to fully recover.

  • Laser Treatments (IPL, resurfacing, hair removal):
Lasers target pigment and can cause uneven fading, pigment breakdown, or color shifts (like grey or ashy tones). There are so many different lasers that reach different wavelengths. You’ll definitely want to let your laser tech know you have semi-permanent tattooed freckles.

    Microneedling or Nano-Needling:
These treatments boost skin turnover and collagen, which may lead to faster fading and cause freckles to look muted or hazy over time depending if your esthetician is infusing certain chemicals into the skin while needling.

Chemical Peels / TCA Peels / Enzyme Peels:
Deep exfoliation can thin the skin and cause freckles to lighten, blur, or fade unevenly, especially with repeated treatments.

    Retinol / Tretinoin / Exfoliating Acids (AHAs/BHAs):
These increase cell turnover and can cause freckles to fade faster or appear patchy, and sometimes shift cooler or warmer in tone depending on the pigment.

    Excessive Sun Exposure:
UV exposure can cause pigment to oxidize, leading to color shifts (like orange or red tones) or uneven fading. Always wear SPF!
